crazy
it's rent day again and time for sharing some new music. actually i'm not sure how you'd categorize this one. it's more like spoken word poetry rantings from a true madman with jazz accompaniment. from 1958 dot records' jazz horizon series this is ken nordine "son of word jazz".
there's so much that i love about this platter i could exhaust many lines in the telling. truth be told this is one of my very favorite records. in fact if you really want to know what i'm all about, you can just listen to this one over and over to get a better idea. however, it is definitely not for the faint of heart or the easily distracted. so let me just a little advice. i'm not saying sitting in a dimly lit room with a bottle of wine is absolutely necessary for listening, but it couldn't hurt either.
so split squaresville and hop on the train for groove central because cool daddy nordine and the chico hamilton jazz ensemble are warming up here.
